Will AI ever replace human judgment?
As AI becomes more capable, it’s easy to assume that human involvement will gradually disappear from the workflow. But that’s not what we’re seeing.
The teams we’ve worked with aren’t trying to remove people from every decision. Instead, they’re automating repetitive work, allowing people to focus on the decisions where mistakes carry the greatest cost.
This is especially important when the stakes are high. Think about approving a large payment, reviewing a medical diagnosis, or launching an email campaign to millions of customers. Would you be comfortable letting AI make those decisions without human approval?
In these cases, the cost of dealing with the consequences of a wrong decision is often higher than the cost of involving a human.
The real challenge isn’t designing systems that never make mistakes, but designing systems that know when to bring human judgment back in. Human oversight isn’t a fallback; It’s often the reason people trust the product in the first place.
What’s one decision you’d never let AI make on its own?
